a horse themed baby shower

image

> > > we recently gave a dear friend a « long over-due » baby shower at a beautiful restaurant, just south of town, in lehre, germany. the location was beyond perfect for our mommy &  o n e  month old baby girl, carlotta. because of our friend’s serious love of horses [ & because carlotta was born in the chinese zodiac year of the horse ], we found it fitting to incorporate these little details into their special day. we painted little paper mâché rocking horses, borrowed a few horse shoes, & scattered arrangements { of white-toned flowers } all over the tables. we found an adorable horse-on-a-stick & penned a ‘baby carlotta’ banner for our friend to add to her [ already ] wonderful nursery as well. we also packaged up sugar cookies [ shaped as mini rocking horses ] as parting gifts & enjoyed fun games filled with laughter. the day was a complete & total success, filled with lots of love & joy. we are so happy for our growing “grizzly” family & are honored to have been able to share such a special day with our friends, eva & carlotta. xx

Sometimes beautiful things come into our lives out of nowhere. We can’t always understand them, but we have to trust in them. I know you want to question everything, but sometimes it pays to just have a little faith.

summer memories »

as i sat down with my husband yesterday, at a coffee shop on porschestraße, we both reminised about our summer spent in our new home. we spent hours writing out “to do” lists & searched the internet for updating ideas. with coffee’s in hand and heads full of ideas, it finally hit me.. we get to come home (from my husband’s 2014 - 2015 DEL hockey season) to a new home.. our new home. we get to nail picture frames, filled with beautiful memories shared with family and friends, to our wooden walls. i will finally get to unpack our dishes into our very own kitchen cabinets. we get to leave marks of love & wear all over our property for years to come.. and these ideas warm my heart. we feel so blessed for this new chapter in our lives. here are a few photo’s from “haskins’ ranch” & i hope you enjoy sharing this new journey with us. xx
